Second Quarter
We are starting out the second nine weeks with a bang! We will be working with other Hannan Students at Help the Hooch on Saturday, October 15, 2011. Our clean up site is at Flatrock Park. All students are encouraged to participate and we look forward to seeing you there! Clean-up begins at 8:00 am and will end at 12:00 noon. Please try to wear a Hannan t-shirt if you come out.
We are currently in the middle of four separate projects. We are still helping the kindergarten and first graders with their recycling project. We have also adopted a little girl for Christmas. We are collecting clothes and toys for her. The gifts will be collected during the first or second week of December.
Our other two projects are school wide. We are collecting cans in partnership with the Region 7 Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services for their Cans For Kids Campaign. Cans will be collected in the classrooms and BETA Club will be picking them up on Wednesday. We have until the 30th of November and BETA Club has set a goal of 500 cans by then! We are also collecting various items such as clothing and toiletries for the House of Mercy. They recently had a severe fire that damaged and destroyed many of our supplies and the students have agreed that they wish to help replace the lost items. Collection bins for the House of Mercy are in Ms. Garner's room and in the teacher's lounge.
